The Kipfmüller family has a long and distinct history in the United States beginning in 1847.
- A religious imigration to the Saginaw Valley in Michigan from Neuendettelsau, Bavaria, Germany.
- It founded a new community called Frankentrost, Michigan and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Frankentrost, Michigan.
- The second migration following that which settled in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
- The church in Frankentrost joined the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod immediately following that synod’s incorporation in 1847.
- The family helped to establish Lutheran congregations in Frankentrost, Frankenhilf (Richville), Monitor Township, and Midland, all in Michigan.
- The family has produced at least six (6) Lutheran pastors:
- Pastor David Ehman (LC-MS)
- Pastor Clifford Kipfmiller (WELS)
- Pastor David Kipfmiller (WELS)
- Pastor Mark Kipfmiller (WELS)
- Pastor Marcus Zill (LCMS)
- Pastor Marcus Zill, Jr. (LCMS)
- And at least two (2) Lutheran Elementary School Teachers:
- Ruth (Kipfmiller) Sullivan (WELS)
- Linda (Kipfmiller) Ebeling (WELS)
